My Senses (They Know You)
As my fingers lay against your own,
They instantly fold into place
As if aware of assigned position.
I feel a familiarity that
Reassures your love for me
Your hands become my focal point.
I think of the pleasures they have brought
To hidden places,
The mountains and hills
They have caressed
On various shades of sweat filled pores,
The faces caressed,
The babies held,
The fruits picked
And
Vegetables planted.
Cupped palms turned to the heavens,
Cracked faces of men and triggers pulled....
"I love these hands"
I think to myself as I place them to my face
And brush them against my cheeks.
Leaning in, I place my face under your jaw
And
kiss your neck
You inhale as I continue to your collar
Then stop to take in your sent.
It is pleasant and it relaxes me.
When your away it's in your pillow like
A confirmation of your existence...this is real.
I proceed to place my ear to your chest
And listen to your heart.
I close my eyes...you kiss them,
Then wrap your arms around me;
I exhale then open them to you watching me,
I smile at the beautiful sight.
You press your lips to mine and I taste your kiss.
In a fraction of time,
You have managed to awaken by entire being...
My thoughts,
My emotions...
My senses.
They know you.
